SACS SWIMMING AND ELEMENTARY SOCKS....MAKING A SPLASH!!

SACS Swimming took to the pool on Friday, February 14, under the leadership of 5 year Coach Stephanie Kass and made quite a splash at the TAPPS Division II State meet.

The boys team finished 4th - just 2 points short of the podium and the girls team achieved best times in every race!

John Johnson, Junior, was awarded Central Region Division II Male Swimmer of the Year. Runner up for the award was another SACS swimmer, Zach Terreri. Couldn't be more proud of them both!

Clayton Rhodes and Paulina Macias, both 4 Year letterman and Captains on the team, retired their caps and goggles as seniors competing in their last meet. The team will miss their leadership and their great contribution to our success.
Swimming will return to the pool again September 2014 and is open to new members.

SHOW US YOUR SOCKS!!

Each year SACS elementary hosts a school-wide mission project.  This year, we will be supporting the national ministry Sole Mission.  Native Texans, Kelly and Alisa Ward founded Sole Mission in 2008 to meet the needs of U.S. children living in poverty.  These children face many daily challenges with one of them being hand-me-down shoes with holes, or the shoes are too small or too big (making their feet to grow crooked and deformed), or they have no shoes at all.  Their mission is to provide new shoes to children across America.  With the need for shoes comes the need for socks!  So this year we have the privilege of partnering with Sole Mission in their efforts.  If you would like additional information on Sole Mission, their website is www.solemission.org.
We have been collecting new socks in adult and children’s sizes.  For each pair of socks brought, the student receives a paper heart, which reflects the love of Christ and compassion for others.  The hearts are then put on the exterior of their classroom door and hallway wall.  It has been fun seeing the hearts added each day and has been a great way to usher the students into Valentine’s Day!
The total number of pairs of socks collected is….5,308!!!  Way to go elementary students, parents, faculty, and staff.  Many children and adults will be blessed by your giving.
I John 4:12

…if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing ,so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope!!

Mr. Walters has a new SPRING message for all parents on his page above.

Thanks to Jamey White and Donna Patton for their contributions to our blog today!!

HAVE A JOYFUL WEEKEND, ALL!!
