From Kinder to Teacher: Building Legacies

When Sara Oppelt painted this mural on the wall of the SACS High School art room as a senior in 2004 she never imagined she would one day return as the teacher in the room.
But, she did and this smile has been a staple at our school since Sara first attended in kindergarten at the original campus on Blanco.
She would leave here as a athletic superstar and return as an established artist with a Bachelors of Art from The University of Texas in Austin and a Masters in Art Therapy from George Washington University in Washington D.C.
Sara says, " Returning to teach at SACS is the Lord's blessing."  She believes though new changes have happened, the heart of the school is the same. She is humbled an honored to be the teacher behind Gail Smith, a SACS favorite for twenty years, who moved to Dallas last summer.

Sara joins Mike DeFrees (MS) and Patti Grossman (ES) who have also returned after beginning their education here.  Just one of the many reasons, this is a special place where legacies begin!

  1. It's great to see alumni returning to give back to the ministry of SACS!
