MEET OUR BOARD: COURT ALLEN

Your SACS Board Members: Mr. Court Allen
Mr. Court Allen, the Board Secretary, has served on the SACS Board for one year. His two children, Joel and Adelaide, are in 5th and 2nd grade, respectively. He loves to play outdoor sports with his children, such as baseball, tennis, golf, fishing, and hunting. Allen’s favorite thing about sending his children to SACS is, “Knowing that they are being taught how to know and serve the Lord while receiving an excellent education.” As for his day-to-day occupation, he serves as a lawyer, dealing with intellectual property law, such as patents, copyrights, and licensing.  About his job on the Board, Allen says, “The most difficult aspect is when we have to make decisions that ultimately will be for the greater good but will result in difficulty for some people.  The most enjoyable aspect is the privilege of serving with a wonderful group of godly men who love SACS and desire to see God's kingdom advanced through Christian education.” His favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 2:8-10  "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

Taking Traditions to a New Level!

Rodeo means good eatin' around the campus as the Senior Boys BBQ is always at the same time! This year the event was even better since the boys could cook, hang out, and serve in the new Student Life Center!!

Yes, it was cold last Thursday and Friday, but that does not stop our senior boys from cooking all night long to bring our students succulent brisket and grilled chicken!

It's a rite of passage to serve this meal and one that every senior class looks forward to!!  With the amazing new facilities, it was a snap this year!
Friday morning, senior girls came in to add potato salad, beans, and desserts...YUM!!

Thanks to all who worked so hard...it was delish!

From Kinder to Teacher: Building Legacies

When Sara Oppelt painted this mural on the wall of the SACS High School art room as a senior in 2004 she never imagined she would one day return as the teacher in the room.
But, she did and this smile has been a staple at our school since Sara first attended in kindergarten at the original campus on Blanco.
She would leave here as a athletic superstar and return as an established artist with a Bachelors of Art from The University of Texas in Austin and a Masters in Art Therapy from George Washington University in Washington D.C.
Sara says, " Returning to teach at SACS is the Lord's blessing."  She believes though new changes have happened, the heart of the school is the same. She is humbled an honored to be the teacher behind Gail Smith, a SACS favorite for twenty years, who moved to Dallas last summer.

Sara joins Mike DeFrees (MS) and Patti Grossman (ES) who have also returned after beginning their education here.  Just one of the many reasons, this is a special place where legacies begin!
